Big Brother has arrived – and it’s you. Investigate the lives of citizens to find those responsible for a series of terror attacks. Information from the internet, personal communications and private files are all accessible to you. But, be warned, the information you supply will have consequences…
Orwell is a new governmental security program that has the power to survey the online presence of every person in The Nation. It can monitor all personal communications and access any computer. To preserve the privacy of citizens, human researchers examine the data Orwell finds and decide which pieces of information should be passed on to the security forces, and which should be rejected.
Selected from thousands of candidates, you are Orwell’s first human researcher. And when a terror attack rocks the Nation’s capital city of Bonton, Orwell, and you, are immediately put to the test. Starting with a single person of interest, you’ll help the security forces build out and profile a network of potential culprits.
But are these people really terrorists? What does the information you reveal to Orwell say about them? What if you find out things about them that not even their loved ones know? What is the real price of maintaining the security that the Nation is yearning for?
MATURE CONTENT WARNING
Please note, Orwell includes mature language at multiple points throughout the game as well as mature themes and is not suitable for younger players.

Good job devs! Amazing storyline
that will be a crossover
imagine there is a dude in Watch Dog uses his phone to hack into the system
what is this a fusion center simulator?
Do it to Julia! Not me!
Just found out about this game on Steam and bought it almost immediately. Bundled with the second one. Can’t say that for most games, especially indie games. I’m really engrossed in the story and the concept is disturbing. I feel creeped out playing it.
Just discovered this game now. SO. INCREDIBLY. AWESOME.
It's free on Steam!!
I love how it is named after the author of 1984…I love this entire game! <3
Gotta play it
Haven't finished the game yet, might return and comment again when I do.. Ou the suspense! BUT
I hope the devs take their ideas here and expand on it, maybe add a little more to the game play mechanics. As a fan of literature, and G. Orwell, I was a sucker for this game, but there's a lot of repetition towards the latter parts (I sure hope I'm past the half-way point..)
Great mystery to uncover, and makes you question decisions in all the Orwellian ways you could hope for, if someone made it this far, then wait for a sale & pick it up!
If that is like Papers, Please or Uplink, i want buy!!!
cool, training game ? )
"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever."
~ George Orwell, "1984"
Direct quote from Orwell's '1984' –
"In a way, the world-view of the Party imposed itself most successfully on people incapable of understanding it. They could be made to accept the most flagrant violations of reality, because they never fully grasped the enormity of what was demanded of them, and were not sufficiently interested in public events to notice what was happening."
Is this true RIGHT NOW? If it is… it's too late. And it's not like that was written 5 years ago…
Now – go ahead and tell me how 'it's all just a crazy conspiracy theory'.
A purely communistic idea which reminds me of Papers, Please. Just not my type of game, as I gave Papers, Please a try and I just couldn't get into it.
1984
Late 2016? Don't you mean 2017?
Obama: The Game
Late 2016? so its out now?
"Invading your privacy late 2016" Oops.
Posting my forum reply on the Release Thread here, because it's on "Please wait. Processing" for the last 10 minutes.. Insidious.. Here we go!
Great, it's NSA: The Game.
I'm sure this game is trying to expose some valid arguments on both sides of the coin, but excuse my french; FUCK Surveillance of any form. You can have my data when you take it from my cold, dead hands, and not a moment sooner.. Honestly, the only thing this game is going to teach me is how to report my neighbours' weed plantation in the attic (because look their roofs didn't have snow on it), and not feel guilty about it. And you know what, I'm not okay with that kind of subcontious conditioning. I'll keep my money thank you very much.
I'm expecting a followup game on how to setup layered proxies, subverting and well-poisoning of metadata mining, VPN's in China, how to prevent swatting on online streaming services, and so on and so on.. To even out the propaganda, right?
>Orwell
Subtlety, thy name is not Osmotic Studios.
Been meaning to check this one out. Looks like a very interesting concept.
Good game, scary idea…
